71. What’s Holding you Back?! with Hannah Brencher
Today I (Bethany) was excited to take on this interview with Hannah Brencher solo. Corey was at basketball, and while I love his company on the podcast, I was selfishly looking forward to picking Hannah’s brain all on my own! Hannah is an author, speaker, and one of the very first “writing mentors” I chose to learn from early on in my writing journey just as my blog was beginning. Back then, there was no podcast, I was just finishing my first manuscript, and I’d have paid a good amount of money to sit down and spend an hour one on one with Hannah. So, the fact that I had the opportunity to have her as a guest on the podcast today was a total full circle moment that I was so thankful for!
Today we talked about millennials, purpose, and some of my favorite topics that I chose from her brand new book “Fighting Forward.” There are so many things that we let unnecessarily hold us back from truly living out our purposes, and Hannah shares so much of her heart on this topic today. I can’t wait for you to hear what she has to say in today’s episode, as well as get a sneak peek into her new book that comes out on January 5th!
Things We Discussed In The Episode/Episode Highlights:
How you don’t have to see the whole picture to let your story unfold
The importance of not losing focus in your purpose journey for less important things such as social media numbers and popularity
Finding meaning in the mundane
How to address the inner critic within us
The importance of looking “out” rather than “down” and being willing to have your day hijacked
